Many years ago I wrote to Adrian Mitchell, one of my favourite poets. To my delight I got a letter back from him saying I had a great name but my address at the time - Flat One - was a bit of a let-down, he'd expected Cave One or Meadhall Nine or summat like that. I liked the sound of Meadhall Nine and decided to use it when I had to think of a name for this site...

This site has been created on a MacBook using the brilliant Safari browser at a screen resolution of 1280 x 800... did you really need to know that? I see this kind of information displayed on home pages and I can honestly say that in more than a decade of using the web I have never once felt the urge to fire up the appropriate browser, let alone adjust my set...

What is the motto of my site?

This isn't really a frequently asked question, it's only been asked once by someone who sounded like a most unpleasant individual so I'm answering it here in the hope that it will never be asked again. To be quite frank, I'm not interested in assigning a motto to my site but if I was going to have one it would be something like this: "Mottos, like mission statements, are shite".
